It’s hot, humid and sticky. Not great weather for chocolate, unless it’s cold chocolate. So here we go, Double Chocolate Cream Pie, not a lot to say about it. I actually liked it enough to give some to neighbor TJ for a review…and it passed the adult non-allergic non-vegan palate!
PrintDouble Chocolate Cream Pie
Ingredients
- 1 prebaked pie crust. Make one from scratch or use a Pillsbury crust.
- 3 cups chocolate dairy-free milk
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 1/3 cup safe chocolate chips ( I used Divvies)
- Safe whipped cream, I used the Richs’ Whip
- Grated chocolate for garnish
Instructions
- Whisk chocolate dairy-free milk and cornstarch together, add a pinch of salt. Heat to a slow boil and keep stirring until thickened, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and add the chocolate chips. Blend until melted.
- Allow pudding to cool slightly and then dump into the pie crust.
- Chill for 1-2 hours.
- Top with whipped topping and chocolate shavings.
- Share with neighbor.
Notes
I used Silk chocolate soy milk for this recipe. See my post on dairy-free milk alternatives for ideas.

You are now officially a bad influence. A dairy free double chocolate cream pie is the last thing my diet needs!
I finally got random and answered your meme, if you'd like to come see. Libby

There's an award for you on my blog. The pie looks delicious, but I can't eat soy so I'll just have to drool over it!

This looks freakin awesome!!! Is the blue can of wonder dairy free? I wish I could get Soyatoo here in Canada. Why must coolwhip have dairy in it! I would brave chemicals for a good dose of creaminess 🙂

As far as I can tell, Rich's Whip (Blue Can) is dairy free, I linked in this post to the ingredients I posted in a previous post (does that make sense?). They make two other similar products, but both of those have sodium caseinate and are labelled "non-dairy". I haven't called the company to hash out the "natural flavoring" portion, but my 5 year old anaphylaxed 6 months ago after a sip of cow's milk, so I'll assume she's pretty sensitive, and she eats the stuff with glee.

My boys and I LOVED the filling as a pudding! I used chocolate Natura soy milk and Enjoy Life chocolate chips. Living in Canada, I have yet to find a product for dairy free "whipped cream".
